'My great news is I can tick off an awful lot already!!! I've lost weight, bought my car, am taking my little girl overseas AND I got a contract this week which means I'll also earn my (rather high) financial goals!!! This goal setting thing really works!!!'

Bevan was a very good self-employed photographer, but the business side of his work challenged him. As he worked through the process he wrote: 'financial security (he struggled to keep an even monthly income flow); new premises (he was tired of working out of his fairly basic basement garage); and an income of $50,000 p.a.' (which at the time was a pipe-dream.)
Out of the blue, a few days later the phone rang. It was a very successful photographer whom he knew by repute, but had never met. 'I'd like to offer you a position as my senior photographer, ' was the surprising conversation on the other end of the line. As Bevan considered the offer, he went into shock. The new premises were the other man's very attractive commercial premises, the financial security was there - he was being offered a full-time permanent salaried position in a large firm, and the income was exactly $50,000 p.a. He took the job. His only regret (tongue-in-cheek): 'I should have put out for more money!' |

Susan owned a distribution company. 'I was having trouble with one of my staff. I really wanted to give him notice, but he was the type who'd take us to court for unfair dismissal as soon as look at you. As I worked through my life plan I made a decision to work on the stalemate. However, before I even had time to do anything, a few days later he resigned.' |

I'm happy to say that things are going wonderfully. The first major hurdle I had to overcome was getting out of the unhappy and dysfunctional marriage I was in which I did at the beginning of the year. I'm happy to report that I haven't looked back, it was the most sensible thing I've done in years. And now I've just bought myself a fantastic new house and I'm moving forward.
The 'Getting a Grip on Life' workbook and chart is a wonderful tool. It helps to define what a person wants out of life and it lays it out on a chart where it is all visible at a single glance. I found it better not to write down timelines as to when I wanted to achieve things as I found this counter-productive but I'm still working on my list of things I want to achieve and happy to report that I've achieved some and still working towards others.
Thank you for creating such a wonderful tool.
